There is a wide variety of personal reasons why someone might choose a man to give them a massage. Perhaps the biggest reason is wanting a massage therapist who can deliver very deep pressure. There are plenty of female massage therapists who excel at this, but I think it’s fair to say a man has an advantage in this department. Some people choose a man because they don’t want the potential issue of sex attraction to be a factor, or vice versa – they are attracted to men and would prefer to be touched by a man. Some people just wind up with a male massage therapist at random – they have no concern about sex or gender.
As for myself, I think people stick with me for those reasons and more. I do my job very well. I am very low key, friendly, and easy to get relaxed with. If you want to talk during the massage, that can be a form of therapy as well. When I do a massage, I am concentrating on what I’m doing, which includes counting the number of seconds I’m doing something in order to do it on both sides equally and ensure I do it for the right amount of time. This timing gets thrown off a bit when I’m talking to a client, but it’s still a great massage. I recommend no talking for maximum relaxation and performance, but I am happy to talk with anyone during the massage. And some people relax by talking. And sometimes it helps to get things off their chest. I am here to help!
