It’s a great privilege to have a job that makes people feel better. I am very fortunate to be able to work out of my home with no employees to deal with. I could make a lot more money by expanding my business but the perks of working alone at home, for me, are totally worth it.
I have an excellent home set up. When you walk into my foyer, you can see into my living room, but then you take a sharp left which leads directly to the massage studio or the guest bathroom. I do have a shower available for either before or after the massage (or both), but since I introduced hot towels a few years ago, most people are content to just wipe down with that, if they choose to wipe the lotion off at all.
I use a special lotion for massage that contains a small amount of sunflower oil. It’s great for the skin. It provides excellent flow for effleurage strokes and allows just enough resistance for deep tissue work.
